The Karuna Buddhist
Counselling Team

The Karuna Buddhist Counselling Service (KBCS) team was formed officially in early 2020 which consists of more than ten professionally trained Buddhist counsellors who have been actively involved in counselling-related volunteer work.

The KBCS Counselling team is committed to providing non-chargeable professional counselling services to the community, regardless of their demographic background.

We are a group of volunteer counsellors and mental health professionals interested in providing general Buddhist principles and compassionate care and guidance to individuals and families. Where appropriate our Buddhist Counsellor may integrate Buddhist teachings, such as the Four Noble Truths and Noble Eightfold Path with various Buddhist-informed therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Reality Choice Therapy, Satir Model and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with mindfulness-based therapeutic modalities such as Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction in our work with clients. Our approach with each client depends on the presenting challenges and individual preferences. Clients are guided in a self-exploratory and self-reflection process to cultivate self-awareness and self-realization toward a more satisfying and meaningful life.
